Team-Up Thursday – Week 24: America

Team-Up Thursday – Week 24: America, originally uploaded by gashuttergirl.

After missing a week, we are back. Since we celebrated Independence Day this week, Stacy and I decided to go with the theme of America. My shot of the flag was taken with my Lensbaby. I am still trying to figure this little guy out (read: not getting a whole lot of good shots yet).

Stacy’s family all gathers together for the holiday and has an “opening ceremony” where the kids parade in with flags, her cousin sings the national anthem, and her pappaw and brother hang the big flag. What a great tradition!

Team-Up Thursday – Week 22: After Dark

Team-Up Thursday – Week 22: After Dark, originally uploaded by gashuttergirl.

I don’t know how Thursday does it, but it keeps sneaking up on me. I realized last night that I hadn’t taken this week’s picture yet, and I had not ideas. I should have done what Stacy did and snapped something on the drive home from a friend’s. Instead, I pulled this image from the archives (Valentine’s in the Garden this year).

Team-Up Thursday – Week 21: Breakfast

Team-Up Thursday – Week 21: Breakfast, originally uploaded by gashuttergirl.

Stacy and I chose to photograph breakfast this week.

I decided to make Ben a treat: Pancakes. He actually likes to eat them leftover (me not so much), so they last almost the whole week.

Stacy’s shot of her cereal bar and coffee brings back memories. I remember the days of running out the door to sit in traffic to get to work and eating those wonderful cereal bars for breakfast. That, I do not miss.

I{heart}Faces – All About Babies

Lydia Anne

This week’s photo challenge at I{heart}Faces is “All About Babies.” I have only photographed 1 baby (Miss Lydia Anne), but I look forward to photographing more sweet babies soon.

This is one of my favorite images of sweet baby Lydia. I had a fun time photographing her and look forward to doing it again as she gets older.

Check out the other beautiful baby images at I{heart}Faces.

Unknown Confederate Dead

Last weekend I spent a few hours with a group of I{heart}Faces members (old and new friends) for a photowalk at the Historic Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta. It was a beautiful day (a little warm in the sun, but splendid in the breeze). I had a lot of fun and enjoyed meeting both old and new photography friends. Can’t wait to do it again. Who knew a cemetery could be such a source of photographic subjects. I have more images on my Flickr page here. I have really enjoyed seeing what other participants have posted in the I{heart}Faces community and on Flickr.

Team-Up Thursday – Week 20: Mirror

Team-Up Thursday – Week 20: Mirror, originally uploaded by gashuttergirl.

The theme for this week was “mirror.” My original idea didn’t work, and I wasn’t sure what I was going to do until I walked by our new TV stand this morning and saw the reflection. My husband also pointed out that the 2 speakers are not only mirrored in the table, but also it their relationship with each other.

Stacy always has fun shots.

Team-Up Thursday – Week 19: Signs

Team-Up Thursday – Week 19: Signs, originally uploaded by gashuttergirl.

I can’t believe it is Friday already. I guess it is better to be late than to not post this.

I thought this week would be much easier than it was. I actually had several ideas, but they just didn’t work out. My sign is from the restaurant that we ate breakfast at all weekend (we spent a long weekend in Florida on the Gulf Coast at the WaterColor Inn and Resort).

Stacy’s sign is hilarious. I wonder how fast that thing can go?

Team-Up Thursday – Week 18: Blur

Team-Up Thursday – Week 18: Blur, originally uploaded by gashuttergirl.

I experimented with some flash for this week’s image. I love how the fan blades took on the pattern of the ceiling.

Stacy’s image is so fun. Her nephews and nieces make such great subjects.

Happy Birthday! to me

Birthday Gift 1, originally uploaded by gashuttergirl.

I got this beautiful vase from my mom for my birthday. It is hand made by John R. Junger in St. Charles, MO. The details and colors are beautiful.

Birthday Gift 2

“Faith is the substance of things hoped for.” Heb. 11:1

My aunt gave me this prayer box for my birthday this year.

Team-Up Thursday – Week 17: Hot & Cold

Team-Up Thursday – Week 17: Hot & Cold, originally uploaded by gashuttergirl.

I don’t do Starbuck’s much, but I sure do like their Carmel Apple Spice. The Coldstone was Ben’s. He got Double Stuf OREO ice cream with OREO cookies. The best part is that they were both free (thanks to the Birthday clubs).

Stacy’s chips and Queso makes me hungry for mexican.
