Slate Roof

Slate Roof, originally uploaded by gashuttergirl.

This is the roof of the Old Mill at WinShape Retreat. We went here to do one of our devotionals (we were supposed to hike to the reservoir, but it was just too cold – see my previous post with us all bundled up – that was for this hike). The roof looks like it was constructed of stone. It was really neat to see and read about how so many of the buildings on the Berry Campus and vicinity were constructed by students. They definitely did a good job; all the buildings were in really good condition.

This image was a quick shot to see how the new lens (50 mm) worked. I love the shallow depth of field (where only a few of the slates were in focus). I also love the way the blue of the sky just popped (I don’t remember it being so blue, so that was a surprise).
