Quite Absent

I would like to apologize to those who follow this blog.  I have been quite absent for far too long.  It has been longer than I thought.  I am trying to figure out where I want to take this blog.  For a while there I was just copying what I was posting on Flickr and thought that was a crazy thing to do.  If you are interested in seeing what little photography I am posting at Flickr, please click here.  I haven’t been posting much there either, but at least it is something.  I hope to have a plan for this space again soon.  Thank you for your loyalty.

I think I am starting to get the hang of my Lensbaby. Loving the images that I have been getting lately with it.

I just got some more Lensbaby toys. I am so excited, I don’t know what to play with first.

It isn’t the best shot that I got this morning (I have one with the whole leaf in the frame), but I was pretty excited to get it to the second.

Spotted these in the parking lot at the gym this morning. I am not sure if it normally blooms in the fall, or if the blooms are at the end of their season.

These caught my eye a couple days ago, but I didn’t go investigate until we got today’s Picture Fall prompt.

If you don’t believe me, check the calendar.

I spent the morning at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens today. It was absolutely glorious! I was surprised by how much was in bloom. These rain lilies were just soaking up the sun. It was a splendid way to spend a fall morning (especially now that the temperatures have started to fall and get more comfortable).

The leaves are changing, the temperatures are falling, and it is getting dark earlier and earlier. I think fall is here. Fall is my 2nd favorite season (Spring being my most favorite). I am joining Tracey Clark and Big Picture Classes for Picture Fall.

Our Anniversary Portraits

Our Anniversary Portraits, originally uploaded by gashuttergirl.

We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary back in April. I finally got our prints ordered and framed a couple of weeks ago. We decided we will do this as close to our anniversary every 5 years (I am sure there will be other portrait sessions in between, especially once we start adding to our family). We each got a 5×7 to keep on our work desks. I got another 5×7 and several 3-1/2 x 5 for the scrapbook. Then we got a stunning 8×10 professionally framed to hang in the house (we haven’t decided where yet).

Sam Napper of Samscreek Photography took these images at Cauble Park in Acworth, GA. It was a beautiful day and location. And the Napper’s were so much fun. They did an awesome job, and we look forward to having them do our portraits again in the future. I highly recommend them for your portrait needs (let them know you heard of them from us).

Team-Up Thursday – Week 26: Where We Live

Team-Up Thursday – Week 26: Where We Live, originally uploaded by gashuttergirl.

I thought this subject would be easy (Do I say that every week?). I didn’t quite get what I wanted. I guess I need a fisheye or something close because my widest angle on my zoom wasn’t quite wide enough. Oh well. This is basically half the house and, at this time, where we spend most of our time. The dinning room has been turned into a temporary office while we sort out and reorganize the 2 spare rooms to make one of them an office.

I love Stacy’s POV.

Don’t forget to check out what the other teams are doing in the Flickr group.
